The financial revolution between digital currencies, new assets and payment systems, the economic development scenarios in the next ten years and the countless applications of artificial intelligence in the world of real estate, human resources and IT security, in addition to the opportunities of 5G. Another glimpse of the world to come has opened this afternoon at the Festival del Futuro, now in its third edition e underway until tomorrow at Veronafiere, it has already reached 800 thousand views in two days.

The afternoon session opened with a panel discussion on "Economic development and world trade: the risks and opportunities of the decade", with Enrico Sassoon, managing director of Harvard Business Review Italia, Giovanni Dolcetta Capuzzo, vice president for internationalization of Confindustria Vicenza, Manuela D'Onofrio, head of group investment strategy of UniCredit, Gianmarco Montanari, general manager of IIT and independent director of FinecoBank and Tinexta, Emilio Rossi, senior advisor of Oxford Economics and director of the Tertiary Observatory of ManagerItalia. According to the speakers, there are three key words to interpret the Italian economic scenario for the next ten years: the fight against climate change, which will bring about radical transformations of the entire economic, production and consumption system; inflation, which today stands at around 4 per cent in Europe, but which once the emergency is overcome will see the pre-Covid stagnation factors reappear in our country; and the public debt, equal to 160% of GDP, an often underestimated figure. Yet, there is no lack of glimmers of light. Every crisis brings opportunities. Unlike what happened after the crash of 2008, states are now conducting expansive monetary and fiscal policies. The European Commission has allocated 750 billion euros through the Recovery Fund for the economic recovery of the countries and Italy is one of the countries that will benefit most from these funds, returning to making investments after thirty years of cost containment, with great opportunities to relaunch growth, which is already 6% of GDP today.

From the real economy to "The great transformation of finance between digital currencies, new assets and payment systems", round table attended by Rony Hamaui, general secretary of Assbb, Michele Lanotte, director of Milan Hub of the Bank of Italy, Alessandra Losito, general director of Pictet Wealth Management Italia, Alessandro Hatami, co-founder and managing partner of Pacemakers , and Massimo di Tria, chief investment officer of the Cattolica Assicurazioni Group. The picture painted is that of a new financial context in which the digital revolution has just begun. Credit cards and cell phones have already led to the disappearance of banknotes. As new cryptocurrencies continue to spread, central banks will react by developing their own digital currencies, much more stable and credible. All this will bring greater efficiency, greater flexibility and better access to markets, but also greater risks of instability and less privacy. This is also due to the entry into the markets of the large digital technology players who, while remaining intermediaries, aim to offer financial services.

During the last panel Maria Savona, professor of Economics at Luiss, Giovanna Della Posta, CEO of Invimit SgR, Ornella Chinotti, CEO of SHL, Agostino Santoni, vice-president of Cisco South Europe, Giuseppe Italiano, professor of Computer Science at Luiss talked about new working models between physical and digital. There are many applications of artificial intelligence, in the most unexpected sectors. Starting with real estate, where these new technologies are used to scout properties, through a sophisticated algorithm that evaluates different socio-economic conditions to understand if the analyzed territory can host real estate projects. Or in the world of human resources, particularly in large companies, which will be able to set personnel selection parameters to proceed with the recruitment of employees. Or again in the information technology sector, where it is increasingly necessary to block the very numerous - 80 billion - cyber attacks that occur every day.

The day ended with Future Arena, the new format dedicated to startups and innovation. Martina Capriotti, founder of Mirta, talked about her company, which promotes Made in Italy artisans by making their clothing, accessories and bags known abroad. Filippo Miola, president and CEO of Array System, vice president of Confindustria Vicenza with responsibility for digitization, and Stefano Quintarelli, entrepreneur and communications and IT expert, focused on the topic of 5G, a technology capable of offering great opportunities to companies and products to be launched on the market.

A cross-section of the world that will come to the Festival of the Future, which continues tomorrow, with the participation of some curious guests: little robots, busy distributing newspapers, aperitifs and sweets to the participants of the Festival.
