"The new world (dis)order - How to face and overcome the great challenges of the future" is the leitmotif of the fourth edition of the Festival del Futuro, which opened this afternoon in Verona, at the Palazzo della Gran Guardia, where it will continue until Saturday 26 November.

"We worked on this play on words, even if it's no joke as we know, to represent a constantly evolving situation," said Matteo Montan, managing director of the Athesis publishing group, promoter of the Festival together with Harvard Business Review Italia and to business excellence.

«In recent years – explained Montan – we talked about change and “never normal” now we are truly facing a new great challenge and the Festival of the Future is here as always to give food for thought to our audience which is made up of young , of families, of entrepreneurs». For the first time the event moves into heart of the city of Verona, in the frame of the Palazzo della Gran Guardia. Three days of talks with experts, entrepreneurs, scholars and managers called to discuss the major issues of our tomorrow.

«Three years ago - said Enrico Sassoon, director of Harvard Business Review Italy and scientific director of the Festival - we started with the support of many very important institutional and non-institutional partners, and with the patronage of the European Commission. From this year it is not a patronage, but a real collaboration. The 2022 Festival program – he added – reflects the new global situation in which we find ourselves and therefore looks to the future, keeping in the foreground the wide-ranging effects of the many crises that the world is facing: pandemic, war, economy, finance, change climatic climate are in the foreground, but also young people, work, businesses".

Luigi Consiglio, founder of the Eccellenze d'Impresa network and another promoter of the Festival, spoke about the Italian economic fabric and the strategic advantage above all due to the extraordinary ability to leverage the strength of the territories.

After the greetings of the promoters, it was the turn of the institutional greetings, with the President of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia, the mayor of Verona Damiano Tommasi, the pro-rector of the University of Verona Roberto Giacobazzi and the president of Confindustria Verona Raffaele Boscaini called to converse on stage on the theme of the future.

The works of the Festival were officially opened by the enthralling speech by Enrico Giovannini, Minister of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility in the Draghi Government, entitled “Anticipate and build our future”. This was followed by the first round table of the Festival, in collaboration with the European Commission and the Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI), dedicated to the new geopolitical and geoeconomic arrangements after the war in Ukraine. The first day was finally concluded by the vice president for the Digital of Confindustria, Agostino Santoni, with an articulated intervention dedicated to the digitization of the country and to the challenges for the Italian industry.

The 2022 Festival of the Future will continue tomorrow and Saturday, and can be followed in streaming - as well as in person - on the event's website www.festivaldelfuturo.eu, on the websites and Facebook profiles of Athesis magazines – larena.itilgiornaledivicenza.it is bresciaoggi.it – and on the Media partner website  ansa.it
