Its market value is estimated at 43 billion dollars in 2026. We are talking about open finance, a sector in continuous growth especially after the revolution accelerated by the pandemic, which has pushed more and more people to rely more on digital and tailor-made services made available by institutes and come on player fintech. From Fabrick here are the potential trends of 2022 in areas such as open banking, open payment is fintech.

Digital identity and new services

In the open banking segment, strong growth in usage models based ondigital identity. The latter has established itself in Italy with the introduction of the Spid, and is an enabling technology now ready to be used for meet customer expectations who ask for increasingly integrated products. In this field, the creation of information circuits based on APIs is foreseen, for a trend that will mainly concern banking, telecommunications and insurance subjects: proving one's identity will therefore become more and more one commodity. And this not only in the context of the public administration.

Another important line of development will be substantiated in the expansion of open data at a systemic level, even beyond what is the current perimeter of PSD2. Large corporates, including banks and insurance companies, will find themselves in a position to acquire an increasing number of data to be exploited to their advantage for the implementation of new proposals and, at the same time, will have the possibility of establish itself as a data provider.

Buy now, pay later

In the e-commerce field, i payments from current account and, according to Fabrick, there will be an increase in the percentage of market that will switch to cardless and account to account schemes, as in the case of payment Pay by link. This model in particular will find wide application throughout the insurance and utility world, with an increasing diffusion in Italy and in Europe over a period of two / three years.

The theme of the online payment security. Strong Customer Authentication (customer authentication through a multifactorial system), already possible with ApplePay is GooglePay, it will become simpler and will also be available to smaller merchants. This trend will be accelerated by the fact that realities like Visa and Mastercard will launch click to pay payment products with the aim of improving the experience.

The Buy Now Pay Later, a mode exploded in China that allows online purchases to be paid in installments, will confirm a strong trend also for 2022, especially in consideration of the estimates and the penetration it has on retail. The phenomenon has exceeded 90 billion dollars in 2020 and is expected to reach i 3 trillion dollars by 2030. In Italy an increase of 28.6% is expected between 2021 and 2028. If this is a trend that has emerged decisively in 2021, next year will see it develop around it services complementary such as, for example, the development of forms of financing that support the expenditure. In the future, however, the risks associated with over-indebtedness and the sustainability of the business model.

Open Finance, fintech trends

Further consolidation of the model of collaboration between incumbents and startups, a trend that spread with the birth of the sector but which in 2022 will see a concrete grounding of an increasing number of projects. According to research by McKinsey, there is still a fairly stark gap between American and European startups that manage to become a Unicorn (i.e. to reach the billion dollar valuation milestone in the short term): 50% versus 14%. In this context, the collaboration model is functional in order to catalyze investments to support startups and help them overcome initial difficulties.

The fintech strands that will have the greatest development in 2022 will be the Revenue Based Financing (RBF) is Asset Tokenization. The RBF model provides for the sharing with investors of a percentage of the revenues made by the company that is financed. Both the request for financing and the capital employed by investors are made available via the platform.

The latest trend is the tokenization of activity that uses technologies to make products and objects digitally available that, to date, are only physical. The world of finance is moving in this direction and new opportunities are emerging. Tokenization will be used as an alternative method to financing through, for example, bank debt, very widespread in Italy especially among SMEs. Companies will log on platforms digital which generate tokens as parts of their capital and which can be purchased by investors, automatically and directly or with the support of intermediaries. The sector offers interesting numbers, just think that the only market for Non Fungible Token (NFT) totaled $ 10.7 billion in third quarter 2021 sales globally.

One of the key elements for the smart city lies in how the data is first collected and then processed to make the best decisions. To reduce traffic, make roads safer. To support the administrations in this path where technology is privacy protection they have to go hand in hand, they have grown numerous over the years startups which, also in Italy, are making their innovations in the field of sensors available. One of them is Blimp, born inside the factory of the companies of e-Novia and launched in 2019. Part of the Experience the Future of the Festival del Futuro, we interviewed its General Manager and Co-Founder Alex Buzzetti to let us talk about its business with the public and companies. "They are not cameras, but artificial intelligence sensors that are based on image analysis - he specified -. The image is processed directly within the devices. We do not save anything and nothing is passed on. The data is always anonymous and aggregated ".

Blimp: advertising and retail

Active in different cities, such as Milan is Rome, Blimp is an innovative company founded with the aim of measure the movement of people in an urban environment. «I was one of the engineers of e-Novia - explained Buzzetti - and I worked on the prototype until the company was created. At that point I started being an entrepreneur ». So let's find out more closely, with examples concrete, the situations in which data collection can be beneficial for PA is companies thanks to sensors. «We started by installing our technology in the totems where the advertisements are played outdoors. In this way we respond to a concrete need ». With the advertising that is moving more and more towards the digital segment, it is important measuring how much a space can be performing in terms, for example, of passing people.

From advertising, Blimp it also focused on the environment retail. "The same logic is used in stores, to reconstruct the path that people take in a store". Thanks to the sensors, in fact, the anonymous data reveals how many customers have entered, how much time they have looked around and how much they have dedicated to a particular corner of the store. Useful information not only to understand, perhaps, the weaknesses, but also to improve the experience.

Smart city

And then there is the chapter smart city, which cannot but start from data to offer citizens safer and more sustainable public spaces. «We are present in Piazza Duomo in Milan, for example - explained the GM of Blimp -. One of our strengths is having data in real time over a very large geographical area: the sensor covers a distance of 200 meters ". How many pedestrians, cars, cyclists have passed? The startup provides the data and then the PA will make the decisions that belong to it. On the subject of privacy protection Alex Buzzetti finally, he said that the startup has been committed from the outset to grow and mature the debate. «We have started a working table with the main players in outdoor advertising and retail, involving the Italian Privacy Institute. In one year we have created the first white paper that deals with the privacy aspects of audience measurement technologies ".

L'articolo Experience the Future | Blimp, i sensori di AI per raccogliere i dati delle città proviene da Festival del Futuro.

There are many startups that have taken the stage of the Festival del Futuro and of Future Arena during the last edition last November. Among these innovative companies we mention the case of Fybra, which is also part of our community Experience the Future. If you want to review the CEO's speech, Gaetano Lapenta, we leave below the link with the entire episode of Future Arena on November 18 (on YouTube however, all sessions are available). Thanks to a made in Italy algorithm, Fybra's device is able to monitor air quality. Its effectiveness has been proven by an analysis carried out in some pilot schools by Eurac Research as part of the project QAES - Air quality in school buildings, funded by the Interreg VA Cooperation Program “Italy - Switzerland 2014-2020 ″.

The researchers compared the instrumental measurements made in two comparable classes, one with the Fybra device installed, the other without. The search results showed, in the classroom where the device was installed, one 50% reduction in the number of times windows are opened and a lower CO2 concentration equal to 40% compared to the other class. Furthermore, in the classroom equipped with Fybra, a satisfactory level of healthiness of the air, while the comfort temperatures were respected for the 90% of the time.

Fybra Home: how it works

After the official launch at the Festival del Futuro, has arrived on the market Fybra Home, the domestic version of the patented device. The heart of the new product is a algorithm dedicated that monitors in real time the data of CO2, temperature, relative humidity and volatile organic compounds present in the air. The information is crossed, analyzed and translated into a light signal: blue if the quality is good, red if it is below the standards (and it is therefore necessary to ventilate the spaces), purple when it is being improved. What sets it apart Fybra Home is the fact that it is not static: the device, in fact, is able to independently learn the habits of use and ventilation and adjusts to them to obtain the best performance.

The CEO's statement

"The algorithm that regulates Fybra Home is" weighted "in a different way, because the dynamics of space occupation in a domestic environment are different compared to a" public "environment - explained the CEO Gaetano Lapenta -. There is greater variability in the occupation of space, just think of when you host friends, or the air you breathe while cooking compared to when you are in the living room. Furthermore, in a domestic environment, thermal comfort and air quality are perceived as priorities. Finally, in the home, also the Voc, volatile organic compounds, which have been included among the values measured by the sensor, have an impact on the quality of the air, as impactful as CO2. "

The ecosystem is growing and has been able to face the difficult years of the pandemic with resilience. The talent of young entrepreneurs and startups that we also saw at the last edition of Festival del Futuro to Verona and streaming (on our channel YouTube you can find the interventions of the three days divided by panel) is also read in the recent data published byStartup Hi-tech Observatory promoted by the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano in partnership with InnovUp. Among the most significant numbers we mention that onequity: in 2021, total investments in Italian hi-tech startups reached € 1.461 billion, a value more than doubled (+ 118%) compared to the total recorded in the final balance of 2020 (669 million euros). In such a scenario, the central role of institutional actors such as funds is also confirmed Venture Capital: from 294 million invested last year, we went to 576 million in 2021.

"The investment figure marks the strong recovery of the ecosystem following the crisis linked to the pandemic, whose watchword in 2020 was" kept "in the face of the emergency situation faced by numerous startups", commented Antonio Ghezzi, Director of the Hi-Tech Startup Observatory. But what do the numbers still tell us? Of the 193 funding rounds registered so far in 2021, the 60% is a first round, which is the first investment ever raised by an innovative startup. The average cut in investments in the first round was down compared to last year (from 4.7 million to 4 million). Instead, it improves the situation in the following rounds: : in 2021 they recorded an average of 12 million euros per single capital increase, compared to 9 million in 2020.

"It is necessary for the State to make structural the injection of liquidity in the order of magnitude of several billion euros into the ecosystem and not just a" one-off "measure, in order to start a virtuous circle that generates a market capable of grow independently - these are the words of Angel Coletta, President of InnovUp - the startups operating within the most developed European countries from this point of view are supported by a public / private venture capital market that collects tens of billions a year. And it is therefore essential to reduce this gap more and more, in order to prevent our most successful young companies from moving abroad in the stages following their foundation ». Finally, the chapter of financing international: it has gone from about 130 million euros (2020) to over 435 million this year,

L'articolo Il 2021 delle startup italiane: investimenti superano 1,4 miliardi.
A new edition of the Black Friday. On Friday 26 November, what consumers around the world have come to know how to take place early Christmas. Launched in the States United, the Friday shopping after the turkey binge on Thanksgiving is an appointment of today's consumerism, which is followed closely by the Cyber Monday (November 29), dedicated to the world of technology. In reality, just take a look at both ecommerce and physical stores to understand that the offers cover all types of goods and are spread more and more during the year. In short, every occasion is good and the Black Friday is none other than the highlight before the Christmas surge. Let's just give a few numbers: SMEs active on Amazon's global showcase posted sales of $ 4.8 billion over last year's long weekend.

We also talked about these topics at the latest edition of Festival del Futuro, which ended a few days ago in Verona (on our channel YouTube you will soon find the videos of the three days, even with video clips). On our page Facebook Meanwhile, the videos are already available.

In the year of the passing of the baton between Jeff Bezos is Andy Jassy, who took over as CEO of the Seattle giant, Amazon and ecommerce in general seem to be traveling at full speed. The acceleration of the pandemic, with millions of people locked up at home during the lockdown (some still ongoing in different countries), has prompted several consumers to get used to a new way to buy goods and products. The online, until ten years ago still seen as secondary to live business, has become an essential element to continue to to remain competitive. In a similar scenario, however, they remain matters open concerning the production chain and the sustainability.

US and China: the chip battle

The semiconductor crisis, for example, it is one of the variables that most could impact on purchases (and also on the intentions) of the next few days. Also last year different products technological were missing from the shelves due to one shortage of components. There China, among the major chip makers, has the knife on the side of the handle at a similar juncture, while the United States of Biden they are looking for ways to be less dependent on imports. It will be to help Washington Samsung, which he just announced a $ 17 billion plan to build and inaugurate a chip factory in Texas by 2024, guaranteeing over 2,000 jobs. Meanwhile, experts warn: the crisis could last a long time. And Europe? To push for semiconductor production to return as strong as it once was (the European share was 35% in 1990, while today it is 9%) was Germany, which aims to invest billions for one supply chain leaner and more efficient.

Black Friday and ecological transition

Another knot still to be solved is the burden on the environment of the logistics. The Black Friday, as well as all the other days of the year spent making purchases online, have a significant impact on emissions. If it is true that consumers can save on gasoline, couriers and drivers have a busy schedule of deliveries. The associations environmentalists have repeatedly pointed the finger at the harms of online consumerism, which moves fleets of ships, trains, planes and vans with the force of a touch. Means not always ecological as reported years ago by the Guardian, according to which over 80,000 diesel-powered vans operated on British soil during the Black Friday period. The theme is also known to Amazon, which indeed ordered 100,000 electric vans to the Rivian scaleup, which recently went public.

L'articolo Black Friday, il Natale in anticipo tra crisi dei chip e questione ambientale proviene da Festival del Futuro.

“It would be nice to start this future with a changed Constitution and we are about to succeed. If all goes as it should go, the last vote, I hope in favor, of the House, will deliver us a new constitutional charter. We are one step away from introducing the principle of intergenerational justice ”. This was announced today by the Minister of Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility Enrico Giovannini, intervened in closing on Festival del Futuro, the initiative of Gruppo editoriale Athesis, Eccellenze d'impresa is Harvard Buiness Review Italy. “Article 9, which speaks of the protection of the landscape, of the historical and artistic heritage of the country, is enriched with the themes of the environment and biodiversity, also in the interest of the new generations. And then article 41 is modified, with which that integrated vision of economy, society, environment is realized. Investments and public and private expenditure will have to take into account not only the elements already mentioned but also health and the environment. Of the 62 billion investments made by my ministry, 76 per cent of internal spending projects go to counter the climate crisis ".

Festival of the Future: over 1 million views

Minister Giovannini's was the last speech of three days of debates, which saw the participation of over one hundred internationally renowned speakers in 15 round tables, followed in person and online, reaching over one million and 100 thousand views.

In the afternoon session we talked about inclusive society and corporate values, with Maurizio Ferrera, full professor at the State University of Milan and president of the Network for the Advancement of Social and Political Studies, Maria Pierdicchi, president of Nedcommunity, Mark Esposito, full professor of Hult International Business School and Harvard University, and Stefano Venier, CEO of the Hera Group. Esposito, in particular, underlined how companies are realizing how the measurement of value is not strictly economic, monetary, but a much broader concept, determined mainly by the planning of the great challenges.

Energy and climate change

On the subject of major challenges, the objective of decarbonisation was then discussed. Alexander Lanza, director of the Eni Enrico Mattei Foundation, George Appreciated, director of Enea's Energy Technologies and Renewable Sources Department, Carlo Stagnaro, research and studies director of the Bruno Leoni Institute, Andrew Bubble, president and CEO of ViviEnergia and ViviEsco, Alexander Blasi, special advisor to the Executive Director of Iea, talked about how the world of energy will change in the next ten years. Everyone agreed that electricity will play an increasingly central role in the future. The goal will therefore be to decarbonise the electricity system, managing to maintain it in a sustainable way. The approach cannot be separated from an energy mix, which will see renewable energies as protagonists, but also gas, hydrogen and nuclear power, which is slowly evolving from fission, the technology used so far, to fusion, which still requires some time to apply.

Themes closely related to the next round table, focused on "Climate change: how long do we have?". Donato Speroni, member of the ASviS secretariat and head of the FuturaNetwork project, Carlo Carraro, full professor of Ca 'Foscari University of Venice and vice chair, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (Ipcc), Rosa tried to answer this question. Sangiorgio, Head of Responsible Investments of Pictet Wealth Management and Gianfranco Bologna, honorary president of the Scientific Community of WWF Italia.

The G20 of Rome agreed on the need to act to keep global warming within the maximum limit of 1.5 degrees Celsius for half a century, when a population of 9.7 billion people. Will this be achieved? The speakers agreed that governments are moving too slow: individuals do better, but not enough. A change of course is necessary, which starts first of all with a cultural revolution, while at the level of investments a leading role could be played by Recovery Plan.

Thanks from the organizers

Topical issues, which closed the last session of Festival del Futuro. The organizers of the event were satisfied, starting from Matteo Montan, managing director of Gruppo editoriale Athesis, who thanked everyone who attended the event, as well as Enrico Sassoon, director of Harvard Business Review Italy, which noted the high scientific level of the round tables, e Luigi advise, president of Gea, who recalled the social motivations of the Festival, bringing to attention the central themes of our future.

Future Arena

At the end of the day, space a Future Arena, the format dedicated to innovation and startups, which focused on the theme "We invest in the future", in collaboration withUniversity of Verona. Through a rich program of innovative pitches, some startups in the area and spinoffs of the Verona university presented their business to investors, experts in the sector, representatives of trade associations and institutions.

L'articolo Ministro Giovannini al Festival del Futuro: «Sostenibilità e giustizia intergenerazionale nuovi principi inseriti nella Costituzione» proviene da Festival del Futuro.

Training, lifestyles and agri-food at the center of the last morning of the Festival of the Future, the initiative of the Athesis Publishing Group, Corporate Excellence and Harvard Buiness Review Italia. The session dedicated to agri-food was opened by the European parliamentarian Paolo De Castro, which defined the geographical indication of products as a tool that gives strength to the economy by enhancing the raw materials that are born in our territories. In confirmation of his words on stage Stephen Berni, managing director of the Grana Padano Consortium, Luca Giavi, managing director of the Prosecco Consortium who illustrated the case of their products. Followed by the president of Coldiretti Ettore Prandini he stressed that "we need a mechanism to bring innovation to the whole agri-food system, where large groups must be a driving force so that the entire supply chain can benefit from it".

The announcement of the innovation hub in Verona on agri-food

And speaking of innovation, agriculture and the food industry Luigi advise, president of Gea and one of the world's leading agri-food experts, speaking with Piero Manzoni, CEO of Neorurale Hub, Vincenzo Russians, CEO of e-Novia e Andrew Zorzetto, Italy's managing partner of Plug & Play, announced the project to bring to Verona an innovation hub of technological offer for the Italian agri-food ecosystem to bring together big agri-food companies with promising new business initiatives. This is the ambitious challenge launched today from the stage of the Festival of the Future. As Andrea Zorzetto pointed out, "it is Plug & Play's goal to offer large companies a pool of startups that can meet their needs, but we realized that it is necessary to bring them to the home of these industries, in order to be able to stimulate them. ". An experience, that of Plug & Play, which starts from Silicon Valley and aims to connect startups looking for funds and companies worldwide.

How skills evolve

The morning had opened with a reflection on formation. What are the new skills needed on the job? They answered this question Maurizio Milan, president of the Italian Association of Trainers, Odile Robotti, sole administrator of Learning Edge, Aurelio Queen, president of Fondimprese, Pierangelo Scappini, human resources and organization manager of Poste Italiane, Andrew Laudadio, Head of Human Resources at Tim Academy, development & recruiting, e Cesare Onestini, director of the European Training Foundation. In the future, the workforce will be increasingly hybrid: machines will erode the spaces previously reserved for human beings.

What will remain the prerogative of man, however, will be social and emotional skills, creativity, the ability to deal with unforeseen events, to motivate. Not only. Critical thinking, the propensity to learn will be fundamental, considering that technical skills tend to have an increasingly shorter life, but also the ability to work in teams made up of different talents, knowing how to manage one's attention, emotions, priorities. , and also the "restartability", the ability to start over several times in life, because the career will hardly remain the same.

Today the closing with Minister Giovannini

As for the new generations, on the other hand, they talked about it Francesco Morace, founder of Future Concept Lab, Roberta Artuso, Fastweb brand empowerment, Gianpiero Calzolari, president of Granarolo, Linda Gobbi, sociologist, co-founder and research director of Future Concept Lab, Claudio Marenzi, CEO of Herno. In their interventions they analyzed the lifestyles and consumption styles and the differences of baby boomers, millennials and generations Z and Alpha. In the afternoon the festival continues speaking of inclusiveness, energy, decarbonisation. and climate change. To close the Minister of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility, Enrico Giovannini.

L'articolo Formazione, nuove generazioni e agroalimentare al centro del Festival del Futuro proviene da Festival del Futuro.

The financial revolution between digital currencies, new assets and payment systems, the economic development scenarios in the next ten years and the countless applications of artificial intelligence in the world of real estate, human resources and IT security, in addition to the opportunities of 5G. Another glimpse of the world to come has opened this afternoon at the Festival del Futuro, now in its third edition e underway until tomorrow at Veronafiere, it has already reached 800 thousand views in two days.

The afternoon session opened with a panel discussion on "Economic development and world trade: the risks and opportunities of the decade", with Enrico Sassoon, managing director of Harvard Business Review Italia, Giovanni Dolcetta Capuzzo, vice president for internationalization of Confindustria Vicenza, Manuela D'Onofrio, head of group investment strategy of UniCredit, Gianmarco Montanari, general manager of IIT and independent director of FinecoBank and Tinexta, Emilio Rossi, senior advisor of Oxford Economics and director of the Tertiary Observatory of ManagerItalia. According to the speakers, there are three key words to interpret the Italian economic scenario for the next ten years: the fight against climate change, which will bring about radical transformations of the entire economic, production and consumption system; inflation, which today stands at around 4 per cent in Europe, but which once the emergency is overcome will see the pre-Covid stagnation factors reappear in our country; and the public debt, equal to 160% of GDP, an often underestimated figure. Yet, there is no lack of glimmers of light. Every crisis brings opportunities. Unlike what happened after the crash of 2008, states are now conducting expansive monetary and fiscal policies. The European Commission has allocated 750 billion euros through the Recovery Fund for the economic recovery of the countries and Italy is one of the countries that will benefit most from these funds, returning to making investments after thirty years of cost containment, with great opportunities to relaunch growth, which is already 6% of GDP today.

From the real economy to "The great transformation of finance between digital currencies, new assets and payment systems", round table attended by Rony Hamaui, general secretary of Assbb, Michele Lanotte, director of Milan Hub of the Bank of Italy, Alessandra Losito, general director of Pictet Wealth Management Italia, Alessandro Hatami, co-founder and managing partner of Pacemakers , and Massimo di Tria, chief investment officer of the Cattolica Assicurazioni Group. The picture painted is that of a new financial context in which the digital revolution has just begun. Credit cards and cell phones have already led to the disappearance of banknotes. As new cryptocurrencies continue to spread, central banks will react by developing their own digital currencies, much more stable and credible. All this will bring greater efficiency, greater flexibility and better access to markets, but also greater risks of instability and less privacy. This is also due to the entry into the markets of the large digital technology players who, while remaining intermediaries, aim to offer financial services.

During the last panel Maria Savona, professor of Economics at Luiss, Giovanna Della Posta, CEO of Invimit SgR, Ornella Chinotti, CEO of SHL, Agostino Santoni, vice-president of Cisco South Europe, Giuseppe Italiano, professor of Computer Science at Luiss talked about new working models between physical and digital. There are many applications of artificial intelligence, in the most unexpected sectors. Starting with real estate, where these new technologies are used to scout properties, through a sophisticated algorithm that evaluates different socio-economic conditions to understand if the analyzed territory can host real estate projects. Or in the world of human resources, particularly in large companies, which will be able to set personnel selection parameters to proceed with the recruitment of employees. Or again in the information technology sector, where it is increasingly necessary to block the very numerous - 80 billion - cyber attacks that occur every day.

The day ended with Future Arena, the new format dedicated to startups and innovation. Martina Capriotti, founder of Mirta, talked about her company, which promotes Made in Italy artisans by making their clothing, accessories and bags known abroad. Filippo Miola, president and CEO of Array System, vice president of Confindustria Vicenza with responsibility for digitization, and Stefano Quintarelli, entrepreneur and communications and IT expert, focused on the topic of 5G, a technology capable of offering great opportunities to companies and products to be launched on the market.

A cross-section of the world that will come to the Festival of the Future, which continues tomorrow, with the participation of some curious guests: little robots, busy distributing newspapers, aperitifs and sweets to the participants of the Festival.
